Jonas De Vestel is a young freelance floral designer based in The Netherlands who tells us that he is ready to show the world what he is capable of. Given that he impressed everyone at Floral Fundamentals by his dedication and attention to detail – we feel that he is certainly bound for great things.
With projects like the final of Holland’s next top model ’18 and a massive fairytale wedding in France his freelance career started off very nicely but it has left him craving to do so much more.
When he’s not working with flowers he mounts butterflies and other insects and in his floral works he loves to combine butterflies with flowers. The large variety of colours in flowers can also be found in the insect world and the fact that without insects there are no flowers makes them perfect to use together.
He is also the designer of the official Sternocera vase which he makes by hand using hundreds of wing casings of the Sternocera aequisignata beetle which is considered a delicacy in Thailand which makes this an ecological and exclusive product. These stunning vases have been spotted by some of the top names in the industry including some very prestigious magazines. Clearly a young man with a unique vision and as he says himself…
